In Wallace’s speech, This is Water, he preached the problem that people these days people are selfish. He wanted to change the thought of people from thinking that they were the center of the universe to a more realistic thought of thinking about others even if it’s just a little.
Selfish, – (of a person, action, or motive) lacking consideration for others; concerned chiefly with one’s own personal profit or pleasure. Everybody is selfish in there own ways, it’s their “default-setting.” In Wallace’s speech, he talked about people and their default-settings. Saying everyone is selfish is that they will believe and worship what they want. Wallace’s speech showed the reality of how a typical adult life goes. He said that paying attention to others is vitally important and not being selfish. His speech also talked about decision making, and how all choices will impact you and others, in both a positive or negative manner.
