Civic is the study of the rights and duties of the person how the government works. It is also the science study of rights and duties of citizens. Civic education is education in self rules and self-independence in a democratic country, it means citizens are actively involved in the betterment future of the country. In a democratic society civic education is almost important part for citizens to help in understanding the rules and regulation of the country and this is also helps in dedication for the citizens towards their values and principal of the democratic country. It is also study of political science, responsibilities of citizens and operation of government towards their citizens. Civic education is used for the citizens of the country to take responsibilities of the country towards their roles and rights.
It is start with examination of democracy and the terms which are related to citizenship and civic society. The people who active in civic education thoes have a view of authorized citizens actively organizied themself for leadership quality and political impact in societies where they have to represents. Its eye is focus on education and learning about the politicals and social rights of their own country or also the development of the constitution, it means how it has been used or abused. It gives opportunity to change the world around us, how individuals helps and support our democracy and our constitution. Every state has its own laws, rules, regulation but the fact is that how many of them aware from thoes laws. If the citizens are unknown from their rights then how they can live in this society. Every state has given the equal rights, option and time to their citizen to live with their own way, to select the career which they want & to choose their own choice. No one have rights to force them and live according to them. They have a freedom to do what they wants according to their own choice.
Citizens have fully rights to ask the question from their representative about the achievement of the country for which they are elected. Because they have also rights to know the performance of the government. The main assignment of civic education is for the citizens are act diplomatically which having skills, knowledge, and commitment which are needed to accomplish public purpose, such as the group problem solving, public speaking, etc. It is also for the young people which have less interest in political discussion and public issues. So that civic educations have aim to help young people to learn the skills, knowledge and attitude to become a responsible citizens. Civic education helps in participate, membership and working in organization for culture, social, political, and religious interest and beliefs.
Civic educations has basically three elements: civic knowledge, civic skills and civic disposition. Civic knowledge refers to the citizens for engagement and understanding the political system and their civic rights and their responsibilities to know the differences. Civic skills refers to know their knowledge, ability and use, take part in public issue, civic and political activity. Civic disposition are refers to became a good citizen for a democratic country. In a school civic education is a part of extra activities. For the young people civic society is play a vital role for example: voter education, awareness-raising programs, social and political rights and to develop leadership quality. It also used in other sector to improve the functioning of local government or political parties. It is frequently used in to judge the ability of the citizens and to organize themselves, interact with others, take initiative towards the responsibilities. It also helps in to set the target for leaders and become a good example of civic education. This includes civil society groups, like community organizations, NGOs, education institution, public sector, international development organization, media, the private sector and the government sector. Some of the things which is most commonly used in civic education activities are seminar, workshop, group discussion, drama, role plays, radio, television and internet. And other activities are such as attending or organizing political events, seminar and meetings etc. Some general steps for execute the civic education are: First of all understand the civic education necessary of the target group. Identify any existing source of civic education. Identify any existing government policies on civic education. Simplify the constitutional or legal important work in which civic education programming takes place. Differentiate the target audience among themselves and make the civic education activity according to gaps identified and the situation analysis. For the train civic educator always take different activities to check their training performance, improvement etc. Also calculate the impact of the civic education activity and ask the participants for feedback to improve the performance.
